Space technology is used in climate and environmental protection. In future, activities at this interface are to be bundled in the "Green Späce Centre Baden-Württemberg" (working title), from which the economy and society will benefit directly. The aim is to provide targeted support for measures that promote ecology, for example in the areas of mobility, energy supply, nutrition and environmental protection, as well as social coexistence. Baden-Württemberg is to become a beacon for the positive ecological impact of space technologies and the centre is part of THE aerospace LÄND initiative.
The future Green Space Centre will be based on and integrate the activities of ESA BIC Baden-Württemberg. The centre will open the scope to established companies (Mittelstand) and institutes of Baden-Württemberg with a strong international focus on ecological driven technologies related to space.
Since 2007, the Reutlingen Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has been organizing various activities on the topic of space for the state of Baden-Württemberg and the 12 IHKs in the state. This is why the ESA BIC and now the new centre are located at the IHK Reutlingen. IHKs represent the interests of companies and provides vital stimuli for the success and growth of the regional economy. It is a key link between businesses, politics, and administration. It provides information on day-to-day business concerns, helps companies join the international business arena, and addresses tomorrow's issues today.

Your responsibilities:
- You develop and organize the Green Space Centre from the very beginning based on the activities of ESA BIC Baden-Württemberg.
- You represent the Green Space Centre at international trade fairs and congresses and establish contacts in the space community. You define together with partner companies specific actions on these events in ecological areas like e.g. agriculture or new mobility.
- You will build and lead a team of international colleagues (m/f/x). Together you setup specific projects and establish services based on the need of start-ups, established companies and institutes. For financing EU, national and ESA funding programs as well as direct support by partners from industry are considered.
- You are in contact with European partners and keep an eye on current tenders and initiatives in the field of space, which are useful for the further development of the centre.
- You develop the strategic positioning and the unique selling proposition of the Green Space Centre, since there is a potential of significant growth.
- You establish, inform and coordinate the advisory board of the Green Space Centre in order to sustainably promote the space sector and coordinate offers from the complementary space players in Baden-Württemberg.
Your qualifications:
- University degree in the natural sciences or a technical field (min. Master's or Diplom degree).
- A high level of expertise in the field of applied space technology / Space Solutions, including professional experience in this field, is necessary.
- Existing network in the international space sector, e.g. ESA, DLR or other space organizations.
- High willingness to travel.
- Knowledge of written and spoken English required, with a proficiency level equal to C1 or a native speaker. Good written and spoken German skills are desirable, but not required.
- You enjoy working in an international environment and have the intercultural skills to interact with people and partners all over the world.
- Team player (m/f/x), a strong communicator and work independently and in a structured manner.
